PAYROLL PROCESSOR / CUSTOMER SERVICE / OFFICE ASSISTANT
California Payroll Concepts seeks to hire a permanent 32 hour-week employee, for customer service and payroll processing. This position is for someone who is friendly, flexible, and detail-oriented. The position we are filling is an additional position since our company continues to experience rapid growth. Your training will be one-on-one, working with our payroll operations manager and senior payroll processor.
Primary Duties : Payroll Processing: Data entry and file management, attention to detail
Customer Service: Through telephone, fax, email, and walk-in contacts with our clients
Administrative Support: General office assistance and communication to ensure smooth flow
You will be working one-on-one with office managers and owners of small to medium size businesses supporting questions and changes, preparing employee paychecks and reports, electronic files, as well as working with our team when we prepare quarterly and annual forms for reporting to governmental agencies (EDD and IRS wage reports and tax forms)
Essential Skills : Outstanding Customer Service & Accurate Data Entry computer file and data base maintenance of business and employee names, addresses, numbers, social security numbers, pay rates, garnishments, vacation/sick accruals, and W4 tax information using our highly efficient, proprietary software program. Training will be provided on our software which is specific to processing payroll (a user-friendly UNIX based system). Though not routine data entry, similar skills are required including 10-key, attention to detail and accuracy. You will possess good communication skills including the ability to ask questions when uncertain. This is a highly confidential work environment, it is mandatory that you have the integrity to maintain it as such.
Additional skills: Familiar with Excel for occasional spreadsheets and can use email. Friendly, flexible, with good office organization experience, as well as able to prioritize and multi-task are key while working in this comfortable yet fast paced environment. Willing to do some package delivery (occasional client office visit and stop by the post office).
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8am – 5pm, with some flexibility.
